PAUL I KNOW, JESUS I KNOW

Don't blame God for your predicaments since you preferred knowing everything about God except Christ. 

Acts 19 

13. Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.

14. And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.

15. And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

Common among us are men who never experienced the touch of Jesus but always ready to touch others for Jesus. They never associated with Christ yet they are so curious to demonstrate the power of God. All they are after is the unction to function without any interest in consecration. 

The Bible referred to these set of people as vagabond, they wander around, going from one place to another in search of power without any interest in pursuing Christ. They are not ready for submission but always craving for demonstration of the power of the Cross.

Men salute them but demons question their authority. It doesn't matter what they claimed to have possessed, demon possessed individuals are aware of their reachedness and emptiness. Their operative pattern or dimension is not different from that of the sons of Sceva in today's church. 

They are very apt to lay hands on people, but never submited themselves to Christ for heavenly impactation. They have the physical look but lack spiritual stature. They have the oratory power but lack flaming utterance. They are in need of spiritual substances but always after vanity.

Why do you seek to know the Greek meaning of Jesus when the person of Jesus doesn't make any meaning to you? You now go about with Bible dictionaries and concordance to advance your spiritual vocabularies. You are so committed to knowing all about Christ outside Christ. 

You can't grasp the reality of Jesus by that your special Bible dictionary. Seek encounter with His person before any further research on His ways and mysteries. Prior to knowing His way is knowing His person. You can't walk the way of the Lord without knowing the Lord. 

Your major testimony has been that you have been working and serving God before we were born. Kudos, but better than all your passion to work for Him should be a strong desire to know Jesus in person. The number of the years you have spent not withstanding, what matter is How much of God you know. 

Indeed men can testify of your services to God because by now you can sing all those hymns offhand without a peep at your hymn book. You can quote some psalms offhand without mincing words. But up till now you are not aware of any time that Christ comes to visit you, talkless of fellowshipping with you. 

You are always conscious of your services to God but never conscious of His presence. He seeks your attention but you always seek to function in His house. You sleep and die in His house and never had regard for the Landlord. 

Listen friend, going to church doesn't automatically approve your knowledge of Christ. It is more difficult to get people in the church saved than the unbelievers in the world. Because they know all the grammars and religious languages.

For men in this category, before you quote a Bible verse they have finished it, just to let you know there is nothing you want to say that is strange to them. Such people have learnt all things about Christ except Christ.

Why seek to read Greek Bible when the simple ones with you has not been touched? To seek an advanced information about anything without the elementary knowledge which is key to knowing deep things about such subject matter is nothing but a preparation to run into confusion.

Why do you seek to know religious languages and vocabularies without the main substance of Christianity? And you go about feeding people with junks. Enough of heretic and haphazard teachings of the scriptures. Stop killing with those letters, let Jesus have His way. 

There is no point sitting down to know all manner of spiritual concepts without the knowledge of Jesus. If you are fond of such, the best you can get is the head knowledge of Christ which is void of life and potency.

Behold the result of the sons of Sceva's unscrupulous approach to the things of the Spirit when they were trying to cast out evil spirit from a man. Acts 19:16 "And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded."

Don't embrace pretence in your walk with God. The best you can get from such is disappointment. Please be real.
