TAKE YOUR PLACE
Any man that fails to take his place will be displaced. Displacement is inevitable when you don’t know your place and stay there. No matter how loaded and important a man is, without proper placement such man will be useless and remains unproductive. We have so many untapped resources in our society because men lack their bearing and fail to stay in their places. Everyone has his place in the society which must be occupied.
The destructive cataclysm or tragedy caused by displacement of men and women with solutions to the problems in the society is becoming unbearable. How do you expect growth and development in a society where the tools for societal transformation have been displaced? National transformation is not possible where everyone is out of his/her place.
The disorderliness in the society is caused by greediness and inordinate hunger and pursuit of money and material things. These have had devastating effects on the pillars of national development. Many want to work in places where they will have access to much money to satisfy their selfish interests. If everyone decides to work in oil and gas industries, what then will happen to other sectors? For development to take place, growth must be even. Every sector needs men with great unction.
There cannot be national transformation in a nation where people pursue money and personal aggrandizement. As a matter of fact, we are not experiencing societal development because that is not our pursuit. Instead, we pursue money and personal gains. People go to school for money. The motive for all their actions is wrong. The greatness of any nation is dependent on the development of human personality and the strategic placement of every individual in their areas of strength or capacity.
To avoid contaminations, the Christians have decided to abscond themselves from the world. The anointed and the talented ones hide under their denominational umbrellas. The suppose lights of the world have become light of the church. As a matter of fact, the light is not meant to illuminate light but darkness. As stretched by the Scriptures, Jesus said, “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid” (Matt 5:14). We are not meant to be the light of the church but the light of the world; doing anything less than this is working against the instruction of God for our life.
How can you carry the solution to the world’s problems and hide yourself in the church while the people in the world lie in gross darkness? What will be your explanation to God after He had given you all you needed to stop the operation of darkness in the world and you decided to stay where your light will be less impactful?
I have seen people complain and lament about the present predicaments in the nation. Such grumbling will never change anything. You can’t sit down where you are now and be expecting any change in the society. Am I saying going to church is bad? NO. Church should be a place to be ignited and empowered for good work while the effect and result of such should be seen in the society. As my mentor, Engr. Ayo Oluwaluyi often says, “If God wants to check the effectiveness of the church, He will not go to the church instead He will go to the world”. So, what are you doing where you are now? God wants you to go and illuminate your world. The Scripture says: “A city set on an hill cannot be hid” (Matt 5:14b). Failure to shine as light is an open door for the prevalent of darkness in the world. The only way to fight darkness is to bring out light and not hide it somewhere. For any light you hide, you give freedom of expression to darkness. The problem of this world is not caused by the people in darkness but the people who have the light and fail to illuminate the world.
The Scripture also says, “Neither do men light a candle, and put it under bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house” (Matt 5:15). Do you know that the solution the world is looking for is in your hands because you are the light that has been sent by God to illuminate the world? If every man decides to put their light under bushel the world will continue to live in a perpetual state of darkness until you and I arise nothing will happen. Under what bushel are you placing your light? Remember many are in darkness waiting earnestly for deliverance. Come out and take your place. Light does not exist for itself alone. It is designed to lighten up or illuminate everything around it. That is why it is expedient that the light should be placed on the candlestick so that it can give light to everything within it reach. From the above Scripture, the placement of light determines it reach and influence. Light is enjoyed when it is properly positioned where it can give light to everyone.
We can’t be crying for change in the world and leave the people in darkness to be ruling. Your language is, “it doesn’t matter”. It does matter. No man can give what he doesn’t have. To affect and wipe away darkness there is a need for light to be placed on a hill for maximum effect and transformation. O! Light, arise and take your place.
The essence of your existence is to give glory to your Maker. This you can do if you shine as light in the world. The Scripture says: “For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee” (Isaiah 60:2). People in the world fear the devil and tremble before him because of the clear and glaring manifestation of evil by the agents of darkness. God will be glorified when believers take their place and show forth or manifest the glory of God. The Scripture says; “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your father which is in heaven.”(Matt 5:16). The intensity or the shining capacity of your light with your proper placement determines the level of the glory that will be accorded to God. Arise and take your place.
