Be Versatile
The scope of your knowledge determines the level of your competent and dominion. So, Paul admonished Timothy in 2 Timothy 2:15 "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." You cannot divide what you don't have talkless of rightly dividing it. Your dividing ability is predicated on the level of your verseness in the scriptures. Scriptural literacy is key to world evangelisation.
It is pertinent that we are very studious as God's servants and ambassadors of Christ. We must walk towards gaining heaven's approval over our lives as we go out to witness Christ. It is good we preach, yet more importantly we need to pay attention to the content of our delivery and how we deliver it. To give a powerful delivery of the life of God in us we must ensure we are open to raw outpour of the knowledge of Christ.
Don't go about saying am a pastor and all I have business with is my Bible. You are not wrong and yet not totally right. As you are committed to studying your Bible, you need to engage a serious study of other religions. At least, have some knowledge of their belief system and the tenets of their faith. Exposure to knowledge should not just be one way thing. Don't come and negate my ideologies when you don't know what they are about.
Engage a Comparative Studies
To effectively preach to others and make them believe in what you believe, you must know what they know to be right and also have vivid understanding of your own faith. We are saddled with the responsibility to preach the gospel and lead people to Christ. This can't be carried out ignorantly. We preach and the Holy Spirit does the conviction, yet, much more important than our preaching is the content of what we preach.
To confidently engage the work of the ministry, you need to ensure a comparative studies of religions. Get to know the interface, the similarities and dissimilarities between different faiths. This would enhance effective evangelism. Confidently tell people about Christ before dragging them to Christ. Don't be too curious to see men on their knees confessing their sins, make them see Christ and leave the rest to the Holy Spirit.
Do Your Part
Don't say I leave you to the Holy Spirit when you have not planted any seed in them by preaching Christ to them. Preach Christ with boldness to them, afterward lead them to Christ. Be sound in the knowledge of Christ because you cannot preach whom you don't know. It is better to sit down and be a church member than to be going about feeding people with heresies, telling them what Christ is not, thereby leaving them more confused than you met them.
Meditate on this.
"But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." 2 Timothy 3:14-17.
You Are Needed
Wanted! men that carry the word of God and the spirit of wisdom, men who can properly divide the word of the truth. Make yourself available today by feeding constantly on God's word. Don't say I will not preach because I don't know how to do it. You must know how to preach because it is a commandment to all believers. Embrace this father's business, it is the most profitable deal.

The Spirit of wisdom is at work in you!
