DON'T TURN GOD TO YOUR DOG

"Don't complain about the epileptic power supply in our society,  it is our unstable relationship with GOD that caused economic, social and political instability today.

Many run to God's presence when in need of something and immediately their needs are met they disappear from His presence. You only remembered you have not prayed for the past six days when that problem crop up like weed.  Your reminder is not the Holy Spirit but your needs. In the real sense of it you have quenched the fire of the Holy Spirit in you because of your constant disobedience to His instructions. The Holy Spirit's is nothing to you again, you are indeed dead to His voice.

Your so called effectiveness in the church now is not burn out of passion and love for God but from the strange fire burning  within you. You are not manifesting by the Holy Ghost fire,  your major drive now is the strange fire of affliction tormenting you and chasing you  around  the society. No wonder you blow hot and cold before God . You have gotten answer to your present problem,  the strange fire propelling you to run to God has been relinquished due to your short term service rendered in God's presence not for the sake of fellowship but for your problem.

Why are we like this? Who among us can successfully deceive God? We see men run to church when they are in problem, as if God should always give them problem so that they can always appear at His feet. Sir\ma, the reason you are now serious with God on campus is because your exam is near. You believe by coming to God this time He too will pay you back with distinctions during your exams. What a trick!

GOD OR YOUR WANTS

From my observation, I discovered many people come to God not because they respect and obey Him but because they respect there problem. They are never interested in obeying God. The little obedience we see in people is nothing but a way of alleviating their problems. Many have little or no knowledge of whom God is. The only thing they know is their problems and how they can drop the problems and go back to their vomit.

Don't feel bad when you hear on  the street  news about atrocities  committed by a 'church man'. The fact that a man goes to church does not authenticate the Salvation of his soul.  Many are men in the church who have no business with God, they are only concerned with their problems and once they are solved they will pack their load and go from God's presence. It's always strange to hear that some people take their phones to the church and their unable to take it home because someone stole it in the church. Funny right?

like one of my friends would say,  "the stolen phone might be an answered prayer to the one who stole it." That is,  some people come to church to pray to God for phone and seeing one plugged at the socket charging is already answer to their prayers. So they pick it, and give thanks to God and go away. All these ugly experiences in churches revealed the state of heart of many parishioners.

CHECK YOUR MOTIVE

What is the brain behind your commitment to what you are doing now? Why do you pray as if you want to break your neck? Why are you behaving nice and humble while in the real sense you are not? I just discovered that bribery and corruption is everywhere in the world not just in the political sector.

Pastors go for seven days marathon to gain power to heal the sick and wrought Miracles without any element of the love of God in them. A chorister praying ceaselessly for power to sing without a heart of worship and reference to God. Why are you sowing to the flesh expecting to reap in eternity. Every investment in the flesh can only yield vanity.

Matthew 7:22-23

"Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

My friend, you haven't touch your Bible since but because you received a call that you will be ministering tomorrow you cannot sleep today, you now want to finish the Bible overnight. How can you be a blessing to others when you have not been blessed by the word of God because of your fire brigade approach in God's presence? All your efforts are towards pleasing others and yourself, whether God is pleased is non of your business.

My brother you are planning to pray for one hour today because you need to minister in your fellowship this evening. Just the way you did it last week. So you would not have visited the altar of prayer if not for the forth coming prayer meeting this evening? What will be your story after you might have left that office for your house?

"Our excuses for prayerlessness should be the major reasons for our intense prayer life."

You don't walk away from God because things are not working well with you. The best time to be with God is when things are not the way you expect them to be. Mind you, the most pleasurable and sensitive time in His presence is when you are at the peak of your success. It is better for a man not to have climbed the ladder of greatness to the top than to get there and drop down to be nothing.

MAKE THE RIGHT MOVE

Ensure the right shift. I don't know your category. What is important is that you should maintain your relationship with God at all times, not only when you are in need. Don't allow your circumstances whether good or bad to be the major motivation for your passion for God.  Let the love of God fill your life. Whether it is palatable or not let us maintain deep relationship with Jesus.

Please patiently meditate on this scriptures...

Romans 5:2-5

"By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us."
